Twin sisters Sharon Beatty and Sherrone Wells have shared many experiences throughout their lives. They both attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. and are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. — the oldest black Greek-letter sorority in the U.S.
After undergrad, Beatty went on to receive a master’s degree in environmental health and safety from Central Missouri State University, as well as a master’s degree in public health from St. Louis University. Wells, on the other hand, received a master’s degree in human resources from Webster University. Each of the women then worked in the corporate world for almost two decades before opening HomeWell Senior Care in March 2008. The twins were drawn to HomeWell because they wanted to give back to the seniors of St. Louis who have worked hard all their lives.
With Beatty’s background in health care and Wells’ in human resources, the two were confident they could build a business that would allow seniors the ability to live the remainder of their lives on their own terms and in their own home. And they were right. Despite the economy, Beatty and Wells have grown their business over the past few years and become a trusted source of care in the community.
