Lou Romano
Lou Romano was motivated to invest in an in-home senior care business after his grandmother became ill in 2005. Due to a negative experience with a private caregiver, he felt as though quality care was lacking in the community.
With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton and a MBA from Iona College, Romano — along with his wife, father, mother and brother — opened HomeWell Senior Care servicing Bergen and Passaic County in New Jersey in September 2005. The tight-knit family prides themselves on providing a high level of care to elderly and also supplying more than 150 people in the community with jobs.
In the future, Lou plans to open two or three additional HomeWell locations, and would like to provide private duty skilled nursing services. The Romano family feels as though their services are significant to the community because they help residents enjoy their golden years.
